| Getting the invite to Eukanuba was an honour for us and trip we were really looking forward to and now one we will never forget. ivor is a very handsome boy with the absolute best personality, temperament that anyone could ever ask for in a dog. He has done us proud. We left Airdrie last wednesday for the long 3 day trek to Long Beach and 3 hours away from home we hit a patch of black ice and rolled our truck in the ditch. The sun roof caved in and the cab filled with glass, now and stuff was thrown everywhere. Luckily ON ONE was hurt - I do believe in angels and we had a few watching over us. We had three dogs with us in crates in the back: Am/Can Ch. Perchotin's Ivor, JC; Ch. Tovaritch Afrosenia, FCH; Ch. Imogen vom Tollhaus They were fine as well. We had help from many passers by who helped us get the dogs out of the truck - they were worried about us and we were worried about the dogs. It took the tow truck driver 5 hours to pull the truck out of the ditch; we stayed over night in Revelstoke and then the next morning the towing company (Classic Towing) drove us to Salmon Arm to get a rental vehicle so that we can continue on our journey to Eukanuba. I have never seen such kind hearted people and helpful too. Once in Salmon Arm we made the decision to carry on - I also don't think either of us could face the summit quite so soon after the accident, so Greg drove 24 hours straight to get to Marcella's in Monterey where we left Afrosenia and Imogen and Kris Brolin drove the rest of the way to Long Beach. There was no way Greg could do any more - I'm sure he was going on straight adrenaline as it was. We made it - Ivor and arrived at the show well in time on friday night. However, I do think the accident and straight through drive had its toll on Ivor as he just wasn't his usual bouncy self. He showed well though and received an Award of Merit and an Invite to Crufts. I guess we now start to plan for that <gg> Thank you to all who we met - everyone was so friendly and kind. We especially want to thank Rich & Lisa Timfichuk; Marcella Zobel; Kris Brolin for their support and hospitality and Inken Neumann for her long distance support to our journey. We couldn't not have done this without you. THANK YOU!!! We left Afrosenia with Kris to show and will pick her up at the BCOA Nationals in April - so watch for our girl and if you see her give her a hug from us. We are also pleased to report that Ivor did breed Imogen on the journey (as the silly girl came into season - at the wrong time) and we ware hoping to expect our "D" Litter puppies end Jan . |
